Convention on the Rights of the Child: UNICEF interactive tool
Mapping the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
The 20th of November is honoured as Universal Children's Day, marking the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
This year is notable, as many countries have begun implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)— a opportunity to advance the rights and well-being of every child, especially the most disadvantaged.
Yet, while the SDGs represent a chance to secure a healthy planet for today's children and future generations, as we approach Universal Children's Day this year, many children are still being left behind.
To support implementation of the SDGs and to make sure every child receives a fair chance, UNICEF launched a new, interactive tool, Mapping the Global Goals for Sustainable Development and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, that that shows how all 17 goals and 169 targets are crucial to the well-being of children.
The tool lets users discover the specific ways in which the SDGs are linked to the Convention on the Rights of the Child—the global community's commitment to advancing children's rights.
