Results from Research on Poverty in Latin America: Norwegian and Latin American Connections
Seminar organized by CROP, CLACSO-CROP, The North/South Coalition, and the University of Tromsø.
An event co-organized with the University of Tromsø and the North-South
Coalition (Norway). The objective of the seminar was to share a selection
of conclusions from research on poverty and related topics with students
and lecturers at the University of Tromsø, other research institutions in the
region, as well as NGOs. The presentations focused on debates
between academics from Latin America, Norway and the general
public. They included: Critical consciousness and the poor: Indigenous leaders
on the causes of poverty in Guatemala, Georges Midré, University of Tromsø,
Norway; Poverty and Inequality in Latin America, Alberto D. Cimadamore,
University of Buenos Aires/CLACSO-CROP, Argentina; Scrambling for welfare
